Definitions

  • The sponsoring companies or brands will hereafter be referred to as “the sponsors”.
  • The Entrant to the competition will hereafter be referred to as “the blogger”
  • The organisation managing the funds, Connect Fund Grow, is hereafter referred to as “CFG”
  • The chosen charity (Lawrence Anthony Earth Organisation), is hereafter referred to as “the charity”.
  • Associated brands or partnerships will hereafter be referred to as “the partners”
  • Persons associated to the judging process will hereafter be referred to as “the judges”
  • The South African Travel and Lifestyle Blog Awards Event Organisers, is hereafter referred to as “the event organisers”

Terms and Conditions for participating in the Travel Blog Awards

  • Entry to the awards is restricted to one entry per person per blog to any number of categories.
  • Awards are open to South African Travel and South African Travel related Lifestyle Bloggers with a South African domain or who permanently reside in South Africa or who have a South African ID only.
  • All Blogger’s that enter must have posted a post at least once every 6 weeks over a 6 month period (unless they have been in existence for less than 6 months in which case, they need to have posted at least 4 posts)
  • The event organisers reserve the right to monitor blogs and their related social media pages for offensive language or content that may be deemed harmful to the sponsors, the event organisers, the partners, the charity, the general public and anyone related to the awards which includes but is not limited to; pornography, child pornography, violence, material which incites hatred based on race, gender, ethnicity or religion, knowingly divulging confidential or sensitive information, exaggeration, distortion or misrepresentation of facts with the intent to slander any person, group or brand.
  • Inappropriate behaviour such as excessive swearing, slander or malicious intentioned posts on social media, blogs or the website or at the awards event towards bloggers, the sponsors, the event organisers, the charity, the partners, the judges or any other party associated with the Travel Blog Awards are viewed in a serious light and the event organisers reserve the right to take whatever action is deemed appropriate to protect anyone associated with the Travel Blog Awards who may be adversely affected by such behaviour.
  • All entries received will be reviewed to ensure they meet the above criteria.
  • All bloggers need to provide an email address upon entering the awards as all notifications happen via email
  • All parties specifically including, but not limited to the sponsors, the event organisers, CFG and the charity, agree to keep confidential all information given in a confidential manner and may not use any information received during the duration of the South African Travel and Lifestyle Blog Awards to negatively influence any brand, party or person or to damage their reputation in any way.
  • Complaints, concerns or questions should be addressed to info@travelblogawards.co.za/
  • The event organisers endeavour to assist Bloggers and respond to communication timeously in order to maintain a professional relationship with Bloggers and other related parties and resolve issues to the best of its ability.
  • It is the Blogger’s responsibility to read these terms and conditions and to address any grievances before the awards ceremony following the procedure stated in clause 8 above.
  • If a Blogger has followed the correct procedure and still feels their complaint, concern or question has not been satisfactorily resolved within a 14 day period they may choose to withdraw from the competition and must send written notification to the event organisers at least 30 days before the awards event stating their reason to withdraw.
  • Blogs will be judged across 8 categories according to criteria listed in the criteria section by a panel of Judges with relevant experience as stated in their Bio’s on the Judges page.
  • Each category will be judged by at least 2 judges.
  • The partners may provide social media statistics measurement tools which may also assist in the judging process.
  • The Judge’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
  • Finalists and Winners will be announced at the awards event and not before and thereafter contacted via email if not at the event.
  • There will be 10 finalists for each category and one winner per category.
  • All Bloggers who enter will be required to RSVP for the event for catering purposes.
  • By entering the awards, Bloggers accept to be added to our database which will be used for keeping Bloggers updated regarding the awards. This information may, with the Blogger’s consent, be provided to the sponsors for the purpose of extended networking opportunities between the parties. This information includes Blog domain, email address, twitter handle and contact name as provided on the entry page.
  • No employee of the event organisers, or their agency, and members of their immediate family; nor members of the sponsors of the awards or their immediate family may enter.
  • Prizes are not transferable and not negotiable.
  • CFG will not be held liable for any promises made by the event organisers, bloggers, the charity or any other party involved in the South African Travel and Lifestyle Blog Awards as its sole function is to receive, manage and dispense the funds.
  • The event organisers will not be held liable for any action taken by the bloggers, the charity, CFG or the sponsor that was not part of these terms and conditions and within the South African Travel Blog Awards 2016 presentation.
  • The event organisers reserve the right to adjust these terms & conditions at any time and for any reason whatsoever.
